Cosmetic Procedures
Are you noticing changes in your appearance as you get older? Is it getting more difficult to fight the wrinkles, lines, and sagging skin that comes with the aging process?
If so, you may want to consider a cosmetic treatment at Cumberland Eye Care. Our trained aestheticians will help you select the proper treatment to restore your features.
There are various cosmetic procedures to choose from. But no matter what you choose, you can have the skin and facial features you want!
Eyelid Surgery
Eyelid surgery, also called blepharoplasty, is a cosmetic and medical procedure. Some patients may choose to undergo blepharoplasty to look younger. Others may need blepharoplasty to clear their vision.
As you age, the area around your eyes fills with fluid and tissue, making your eyelids puffy and heavier. This extra weight can cause some potential side effects.
Puffy eyelids can sag in front of your eyes and block your vision. It also makes you look older and more tired.
Blepharoplasty removes excess tissue and strengthens the muscles that support your eyelids. Your eyes can hold their shape after blepharoplasty because there is less weight around your eyes.
Removing the tissue that collects around your eyes also has an aesthetic benefit. It gets rid of the puffiness and discoloration that occurs as you get older.
Blepharoplasty can fix puffy sagging eyelids. Blepharoplasty can give you desirable results, whether your vision is getting blocked or you want a fresher look.
BOTOX Cosmetic
Botox is an injection of botulinum toxin, a neurotoxin that freezes nerves and relaxes muscles. It reduces and removes wrinkles and fine lines on your forehead and around your eyes and mouth.
While Botox is active under your skin, it relaxes muscles that clench and cause wrinkles on your face. After Botox, you can expect zero wrinkles for three to six months.
The injection does wear off after three to six months, though. But you can get more Botox to continue preventing wrinkles.
One of the main benefits of Botox is that there is no down period after your injections. They take less than thirty minutes to get, and afterward, you can go about your typical day.
Common side effects are swelling, bruising, and pain around the injection site. But these are rare and don’t prevent you from living your everyday life.
Your wrinkles should be gone within a few days of your injections. But, deeper wrinkles may take longer to disappear.
Within two weeks, the injections should take full effect. Then you can enjoy months of wrinkle-free skin.
Juvederm Dermal Fillers
Juvederm dermal fillers are also an injectable cosmetic treatment. But, unlike Botox, they are a gel, not bacteria.
The gel is a modification of a compound found in your body called Hyaluronic Acid (HA). HA gives your cheeks and other facial features a more firm, full, and healthy look.
Juvederm gets injected to replenish the supply of HA that your body loses as you age. Upon injection, they refill tissue that has lost its shape to give you fuller facial features and smoother skin.
There is a Juvederm treatment for the common wrinkle areas on your face. These include places around your eyes, lips, and on your forehead.
There is also an injection for your chin to augment its shape and size! No matter where you get them, the result is the same, younger, healthier-looking skin.
Injections are for people twenty-one and older and should last one to two years. You can get them again after they have worn off.
